Outcome
Outcome
The outcome of this initiative is the increased adoption of cycling as a daily mode of transportation, contributing to improved physical health and reduced rates of sedentary lifestyle-related diseases. It also reduces congestion and pollution by encouraging people to use bikes instead of cars, promoting cleaner air and better environmental outcomes. Additionally, these facilities support the cycling community by providing convenient and free services that foster a culture of maintenance and self-sufficiency, enhancing the appeal of cycling in urban areas. The CycloFix project, funded by Brussels Mobility, is an example of how to digitally map and present cycling infrastructure in the Brussels Capital Region. The project integrates points of interest such as bicycle pumps, repair stations, parking areas, and bike shops into a digital platform, making it easier for cyclists to locate these essential services. By providing real-time access to this information through digital tools, the project enhances the user experience and further supports the growth of cycling as a practical, everyday mode of transport.
